Abyss Terms and Conditions
Last updated: November 5, 2026
In short
- Abyss is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, with an account or without one.
- What you put in, and what your Runs make, is yours to use for anything lawful, client work included. A Creator keeps their Widget and its Source.
- You alone answer for what you put on Abyss and what you do with it. We review nothing before it goes live, and we may limit or close anything that abuses Abyss.
- Byssium pays for Runs. A failed Run is always refunded, and Earned Byssium is never forfeited. Every price and rate is on the pricing page.
- Abyss is provided as it is, without warranties, and our liability is limited, as far as the law allows.
- In the US, disputes go to individual arbitration, not to court or class actions, and you can opt out within 30 days of signing up. Consumers in the EU and the UK keep their own courts and their home law's protections.
The full text below is what counts.
1. These Terms
These Terms are an agreement between you and Abyssal Corporation, a Delaware corporation ("Abyss", "we", "us"). They cover abysshub.com, every Studio address, the Abyss API at /v1, and everything else we run under the Abyss name (together, "Abyss"). Our Privacy Policy says what we do with personal data.
You accept these Terms when you sign up, with email, Google or GitHub, through the line that links them. If you use Abyss without an account, for example as a Guest, you accept them by using it. If you use Abyss for a company, you accept them for that company, and you confirm you may.
2. Words we use
- A Widget is a Python project a Creator publishes on Abyss. Its Source is its project files and what we build from them.
- A Creator is someone who publishes a Widget. A Runner is someone who runs one.
- A Run is one run of a Widget, with its inputs and the files it makes.
- A Covered link is a link to a Widget that its owner has made free for whoever opens it, paying for its Runs themselves. A Guest is someone who runs a Widget through a Covered link without an account.
- Byssium is a prepayment for Runs on Abyss. Purchased Byssium is Byssium you bought. Earned Byssium is what we owe a Creator for their Widgets' Runs.
- Your content is everything you put on Abyss: Widgets and their Source, inputs, Requests, listings, Reviews, and anything else you upload or write.
3. Who may use Abyss
Abyss is for people 18 and older. That goes for everyone, Guests included. By using Abyss you confirm you are 18 or older. We don't check, but if we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may close it.
Keep your sign-in safe. You answer for what is done with your account and with your API keys, since a key acts as you and spends your Byssium. If you think someone else is using either, tell us at support@abysshub.com.
4. What is yours
- Your content stays yours. You keep every right you have in it. A Creator keeps every right in their Widget and its Source.
- What your Runs make is yours. You keep your inputs. As between you, the Creator and Abyss, the files your Runs make are yours.
- Use them for anything lawful. By publishing a Widget, a Creator lets every Runner use what their Runs of it make for any lawful purpose, commercial use included, for good. That covers work for clients, putting Widgets behind your own product through the Abyss API, and charging for that work.
- One rule for everyone. A Creator can't attach their own licence or limits to what their Widget makes, and nothing in a listing changes this section.
- The one line is copying. You may not use Runs to copy a Widget or rebuild it elsewhere (section 6).
This section gives you no right that belongs to someone else, such as a right in a file you put in that isn't yours.
5. What you let Abyss do
You give Abyss a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, build, run, copy, adapt for display, show, distribute and promote your content, and to operate and improve Abyss. We may pass this licence to our service providers, only to do those things. For a Widget, the licence ends when its Creator deletes it, except for Runs already made and promotion already published. You confirm you have the rights you need to give it.
Abyss may publish its own Widgets, including ones that do the same job as yours.
Abyss itself (its site, its code and its name) is ours. These Terms let you use it as they describe, and nothing more.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, with nothing owed to you.
6. The rules
A Widget may not:
- break the law where it runs or where its Runner is;
- carry malware, or attack, scan or flood systems that aren't its Creator's;
- mine crypto, or use Abyss's machines for anything but its own job;
- get around logins, paywalls or CAPTCHAs;
- copy another's product or code without the right to, or be built from leaked source;
- make child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, or intimate images of a real person without their consent;
- impersonate a person or a brand;
- do anything the EU AI Act bans outright.
No one may use Abyss to break the law or infringe someone's rights, copy Abyss itself, or bulk-copy Creators' Widgets or what they make to rebuild them elsewhere. Reading and crawling the Catalog is welcome, and so is porting your own tool to Abyss.
If your Widget is high-risk under the EU AI Act, you carry that law's duties as its provider; such Widgets are allowed. A Widget that scrapes websites is allowed too, and its Creator answers for following the rules of the sites it reads.
A Widget is its Creator's code. It receives its Runners' inputs, and may keep them or send them to services its Creator chose. If you are a Creator, you are responsible for handling that data lawfully.
If you own a Covered link, you answer for how its Guests use it, and you can open their Runs.
Each person alone answers for what they put on Abyss and what they do with it. Abyss hosts and runs it. We review nothing before it goes live. We act on reports, and on automatic signals, such as a Widget being Frozen when its Runs keep failing. To report something, write to support@abysshub.com.
7. Abuse
Don't abuse or exploit Abyss, its machines or its free Runs. If we believe an account, Widget or link is doing so, or is breaking these Terms, we may limit, suspend or close it, and take any other action we see fit. We tell you why wherever the law requires it, as it does in the EU, unless the law or someone's safety stops us. If you think we got it wrong, write to support@abysshub.com.
8. Byssium and Runs
- Prices and rates. Every price and rate is on the pricing page, and none is in these Terms. We may change them. A change that makes a price or rate worse for you is announced 30 days ahead.
- What we sell. We sell Runs, and Byssium is a prepayment for them. We license each Widget from its Creator and pay them a royalty from our own funds, which is their Earned Byssium.
- Tax. VAT or a similar tax, where it applies, is added on top of the price and shown before you pay.
- Runs. A Widget's price is reserved when you press Run, and spent when the Run succeeds. A failed Run is always refunded.
- Purchased Byssium can be spent on Abyss. It is never withdrawn. Unused Purchased Byssium ends when your account is deleted for good.
- Earned Byssium can't be bought or transferred by anyone. It never expires, and it is never forfeited.
- Refunds. Byssium isn't refunded except as these Terms say or the law requires. If a payment is refunded or charged back, we take back the Byssium it bought, and if that Byssium was already spent, we take it back from the Creators it paid.
9. Withdrawing from a purchase
Wherever you live, you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of paying, and get back what you haven't used. While you can, the purchase in your Cave's History shows what withdrawing refunds. We email a receipt for every purchase, and confirm a withdrawal by email with the date and time. Withdrawing refunds what you haven't used to your card:
- for Byssium you bought, the part you haven't spent, and that Byssium leaves your Cave;
- for a subscription, the part you haven't used, and the subscription ends at once.
If your billing country is in the EU or the UK, the law adds to this. By paying, you ask us to start right away, which is why you pay for what you've used. If a purchase was made without that request, withdrawing refunds all of it.
10. Subscriptions
We offer subscriptions for Runners and for Creators; the pricing page names them. A subscription renews every month until you cancel it. You can cancel any time, in your Cave or your Studio, wherever you took it. It then runs to the end of the period you paid for and ends. Cancelling refunds nothing for that period, except as section 9 says.
11. Earning and withdrawing
- Earning. Your Widgets earn Earned Byssium when their Runs succeed. Every earning clears after the same short wait, and your Studio's Earnings shows when.
- The minimum and the Tax Form. Earned Byssium can't be withdrawn or spent until it reaches the minimum withdrawal and you have given a Tax Form, except as section 14 says. We ask for the Tax Form when your Earned Byssium first reaches the minimum, in the same setup as your bank account, and your earnings don't clear until you give it.
- Tax. US tax the law makes us withhold is taken when an earning clears, and shown to you before it is taken.
- Withdrawing. You withdraw from your Studio's Earnings, at the rate on the pricing page, to a bank account you connect through Stripe, in a country on our list of where you can withdraw. People and companies can both withdraw. We pay the transfer fees.
12. Requests
A Request is text: someone describing a Widget they wish existed. It carries no reward and moves no Byssium, and section 6 applies to it like any content.
13. Email
We email you about your account and your Widgets. We may also send news about Abyss, each email with a one-click unsubscribe. In the EU and the UK, we send news only to people who have bought something from us or who have asked for it.
14. Deleting your account
You may delete your account at any time, from your Cave. For 30 days you can restore it by signing in. Then it is deleted for good.
- Unused Purchased Byssium ends then.
- We pay out your Earned Byssium then, whatever the minimum, and what is still clearing as it clears. If we owe you any, you set up payouts before you delete.
- If you aren't in a country where we pay out, your Earned Byssium stays owed to you, and we keep what we need to pay it.
- What you wrote in conversations stays, without your name.
If you can't sign in, write to support@abysshub.com from the account's email address.
We may close an account under section 3 or section 7. When we close an account for abuse, we refund its unused Purchased Byssium to the card it came from (Byssium from a reversed payment was already taken back). Its Earned Byssium stays owed, and we pay it as it clears, less anything from reversed payments.
The sections on what is yours, what you let Abyss do, warranty, liability and disputes still apply after an account closes.
15. Copyright and the DMCA
We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Our agent for notices is:
Abyssal Corporation, DMCA Agent
support@abysshub.com
A notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- the material you say infringes it, and where it is on Abyss, such as its link;
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for its owner.
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the material that was removed, and where it was before;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and phone number;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, or of any district where Abyss may be found if you live outside the US, and that you will accept service from the person who sent the notice.
We pass a counter-notice on to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us they have gone to court, we restore the material within the time the DMCA sets.
We close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly, in appropriate circumstances. A notice or counter-notice that knowingly misstates something can make its sender liable for damages.
16. Warranty
Abyss is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We don't promise that Abyss or any Widget will work without errors or interruption, or that what a Widget makes is accurate or fit for your purpose. What a Widget makes may be wrong, AI output especially. We are not responsible for what a Creator's Widget does, for the services it calls, or for what anyone does on Abyss.
17. Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
If you use Abyss for a business, you cover our costs, reasonable lawyers' fees included, when your Widget or your use of Abyss gets us sued or claimed against.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't let a contract limit. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, nothing in them limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for gross negligence or intent, or for anything else your home law doesn't let us limit, and the paragraph above on covering our costs doesn't bind you.
18. Disputes
Delaware law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you also keep the protections of the law where you live, and you can bring a claim in your own courts.
Before either of us starts a claim, we try to settle it by email for 60 days. Write to support@abysshub.com describing the dispute and what you want.
If you live in the United States, you and Abyss agree that any dispute about these Terms or Abyss is settled by binding individual arbitration, not in court. You and we each give up the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action, a class arbitration or a representative action.
The American Arbitration Association (AAA) runs the arbitration under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, or its Commercial Arbitration Rules if you use Abyss for a business. Either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court instead, if it qualifies there.
You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of signing up, by writing to support@abysshub.com from your account's email address to say so.
If 25 or more similar claims are brought by the same lawyers or in coordination, they are decided in batches: a few go first, and the rest wait until those are decided.
If the class-action waiver can't be enforced for a claim, that claim goes to court, not to arbitration.
A claim that isn't arbitrated goes to the state or federal courts in Delaware, except that consumers in the EU and the UK may bring it in their own courts.
19. Sanctions and export
You may not use Abyss if you are on a US sanctions list, or in a country or region under comprehensive US sanctions, and you may not use it to break export or sanctions laws.
20. Changes
We may change, add or remove parts of Abyss. We may change these Terms too. We tell you ahead of time about a change that matters, by email or on Abyss, and the date at the top changes. Using Abyss after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you don't, stop using Abyss and close your account.
21. The rest
- You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them, for example in a merger or a sale.
- If part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still holds.
- These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Abyss about Abyss.
- We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- If we don't enforce a part of these Terms, we haven't given it up.
22. Contact
Write to support@abysshub.com for support, privacy requests, DMCA notices, and as our contact point under the EU Digital Services Act.
